Kisoro Airstrip is about 343 kilometers from Entebbe Airport and takes 1-2hrs to the Airstrip compared to an 8-9hrs drive from Entebbe to the gorilla parks by road.
From Kisoro Airstrip, the tourist can easily drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Semuliki National Park, Mount Rwenzori National Park, and Kibale National Park.
Kihihi Airstrip
It’s another airstrip in western Uganda handling domestic flights. Kihihi Airstrip offers quick access to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Semuliki National Park, Mountain Rwenzori National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The charter flights start from Entebbe International Airport and land at Kihihi Airstrip within 1-2 hours.
Both Kihihi and Kisoro Air strips enable tourists to trek Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The Kisoro airstrip is most recommended for Mgahinga gorilla treks while the Kihihi airstrip is most recommended for gorilla trekking in the Buhoma sector of Bwindi impenetrable National park
Mbarara Airstrip
It’s a local Airstrip that serves western Uganda, especially the Mbarara city and Ankole subregion. Mbarara Airstrip was originally called Nyakisharara Airport. The Airstrip serves Lake Mburo National Park therefore, for tourists who want to do a quick game-viewing tour, a flying safari is better.
While in Lake Mburo National Park, guests can do boat cruises, Horse riding, Game drives, birding, cultural tours, and so on.
Flying safari to Murchison Falls National Park
It’s the largest park in Uganda covering 3893 square Kilometers. The park is situated in northwestern Uganda in four districts; Bulisa, Masandi, Nwooya, and Kiryandongo. The park is famous for hosting the most powerful waterfall in Uganda in addition to “Big Four” animals; Lions, Leopards, Buffaloes, and Elephants.
High-end travelers can quickly reach this park by air transport from Entebbe to Pakuba Airstrip, Bugungu Airstrip, or Chobe Airstrip. Depending on where you want to stay, Pakuba Airstrip is located in the northern part of the park, Bugungu Airstrip in the south while Chobe Airstrip is positioned near Chobe safari lodge and is privately managed by Chobe safari lodge – its recommended for the most luxurious tourists.
Flying safari to Kidepo Valley National Park
If you can not endure 9hrs drive from Entebbe Airport or Kajjansi Airstrip, then fly for 2hrs to Kidepo Valley National Park. The park is situated in far northeastern Uganda and in a semi-arid region. KVNP is a 1,442 square kilometers (557 sq mi) national park in the Karamoja region.

The airfield is situated in Kasese town in the Kasese district, western Uganda. It serves Kibale National Park, Kasese town, and Mountain Rwenzori National Park among others. The flight takes 1:50 minutes from Entebbe International Airport or Kajjansi Airstrip.
