Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Drive Murchison Falls National Park
Have breakfast at your hotel around Kampala or Entebbe and embark on our 4×4 Land Cruiser to Murchison Falls National Park with en-route visit to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola (lunch here), visit to the top of the falls where the mighty River Nile perfects its beauty. Dinner and overnight stay at Nile safari camp/ Paraa safari lodge/ Red Chilli Camp / Murchison River Lodge.
Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking at Kaniyo Pabidi Forest – Afternoon Launch Cruise
Breakfast at your lodge and proceed to Kanio Pabidi Park head quarters for a briefing about chimps and other primates tracking here. In the afternoon, join a launch cruise upstream the falls which take around three hours.Dinner and overnight stay at Nile safari camp/ Paraa safari lodge/ Red Chilli Camp / Murchison River Lodge.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Today you wake up early, have breakfast, check out and drive to Kibale Forest National Park, lunch en-route and arrive in Kibale by late afternoon. Relax at your lodge as you wait for dinner and at Primate lodge Kibale/ Ndali lodge / Kyaninga lodge / Chimpanzee Guest House / Chimps Nest Lodge.
Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking Adventure & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After early morning breakfast, transfer to Kanyanchu tourist centre for registration and briefing about chimpanzees trekking guide. and get briefed by the authority guide before you proceed to track chimpanzees in the forest. At 8:00 am, start off the trek to see chimpanzees. You will spend an hour in the company of chimpanzees, embrace their human-like characters and take pics. The forest is also home to the Colobus Monkeys, Grey Cheeked Mangabeys, grey Galagoes, Vervet Monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, Blue Monkeys and about 350 bird species. Return to the lodge, refresh and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge / Jacana lodge / Enganzi Lodge / Katara lodge.
Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura & Launch Cruise
Have an early morning breakfast and transfer to Kyambura gorge for chimpanzee trekking. Enjoy a cool quite nature walk in this underground forest, spend an hour with chimpanzees and enjoy their company. After lunch, take a launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel to see many animals such as hippos, elephants, buffaloes, and an array of water birds . Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge / Jacana lodge / Enganzi Lodge / Katara lodge
Day 6:Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After breakfast, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest passing either via Ishasha, the home of the tree-climbing lion or take the alternative route through cultivated expanses. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp / Buhoma Community Rest Camp / Mahogany Springs Lodge / Gorilla Resort / Buhoma lodge.
Day 7: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable national park
Wake up on a cup of coffee, get your packed lunch and drive to the park headquarters for registration and pre gorilla trekking briefing. At 8:00 am, start off the gorilla trekking adventure which takes between 30 minutes to a full day depending on where gorillas will be that day. In the evening if time allows, you will visit Batwa pygmies for a cultural performance and learn about their traditional forest life. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp / Buhoma Community Rest Camp / Mahogany Springs Lodge / Gorilla Resort / Buhoma lodge.
Day 8: Departure
Have early breakfast and start a picnic drive back to Kampala, lunch en-route, stop at the equator for photography, reach Kampala late afternoon, drop off to Entebbe Airport for your scheduled departure flight, or to your hotel in Kampala / Entebbe.
