Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport
Meet your safari guide (our Company representative) at the airport, transfer to the hotel. If you arrive early you may go for a city tour to check out some of the nice places in Kampala. Places to visit include, the Bahai temple, Uganda Museum, Kasubi tombs and many more. Dinner and overnight in Hotel Ruch / Kampala Forest Cottages / Sheraton Hotel / Kampala Serena / Fair Way Hotel.
Day 2: Kampala – Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, transfer to Lake Mburo National Park (3 Hours drive) with a stop at the equator for photographs. After lunch, take an afternoon Boat trip on Lake Mburo to see hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, and many bird species. Dinner and overnight at Arcadia Cottages, Eagles Nest Lodge/ Mantana Tented Camp/Muhingo Lodge
Day 3: Morning Game Drives &Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Wake up early for morning game drive to catch up with early raisers such as Zebra, Impala, Eland and other savannah species and birds like African Fin foot, Papyrus, Bush Shrike, and so on. returning to the hideouts, return to the lodge for full breakfast and proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National park with en-route game viewing. The journey goes through beautiful views of Kigezi Hills, “the Switzerland of Africa”, have picnic lunch en-route and relax in the evening as we wait for dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs Lodge / Gorilla resort / Buhoma community Bandas / Silverback Lodge / Gorilla Mist Camp / Bakiga Lodge.
Day 4: Gorilla tracking Adventure
Have breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters (with packed lunch and water) for briefing before setting off to the forest in search for gorillas. Gorilla trekking time takes between 30 minutes -8 hours depending on gorilla movements and location. Spend an hour in the company of a gorilla family, embrace their human-like characters and have fun. If time allows in the evening, take a cultural walk to Batwa communities (Pygmies). Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park -Evening Game Drives
Have breakfast, check out and depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park with lots of game viewing en-route, including tree-climbing lions in Ishasha sector .Relax after lunch at Mweya Safari Lodge, and later go for an evening game drive to see animals like buffaloes, lions, herds of Elephants, bushbucks, bush pigs, warthogs, Deffassa waterbucks and many more. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/ Jacana Lodge / Katara Lodge / Kyambura Game Lodge / Twin Lake Lodge / Simba Safari Camp.
Day 6: Game Viewing & Launch Cruise
After a cup of tea/coffee, go for a game drive and catch up with the early risers browsing, hunting and grazing before retiring for day rests. Return for full breakfast and relax waiting for hot lunch at the Lodge. In the afternoon, go for a launch cruise at Kazinga channel, famous for the highest concentration of Hippos in Africa, alongside other animals like Buffaloes, and huge crocodiles basking on the shores, as well as 611 birds species.
Day 7: Queen Elizabeth – Kibale Forest; Home to 13 primates species
Have breakfast and transfer to Kibale Forest National Park through Fort-portal, amidst the great mountains of the moon offering you beautiful sceneries. Lunch and proceed for chimpanzee tracking. Expect an encounter with other primate species such as The Grey Cheeked Mangabeys, Black and White colobus monkeys, Vervet Monkeys, Red-tailed monkeys, Blue Monkeys, bush babies, baboons and over 300 bird species. Return to your lodge in the sunset for dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge / Primate Lodge / Rwenzori View Guesthouse / Chimpanzee Guest House / Kibale Safari Lodge.
Day 8: Kibale Forest – Murchison falls National Park
Have breakfast and connect to Murchison falls National Park, arrive by afternoon, have lunch and drive directly to the top of the falls where the park derives its name. Here you will see the calm Nile forcing its self through a narrow gorge of 7 meters wide to fall a distance of about 150 ft down producing a thunderous roar of white water- incredible scenery! Transfer to Paraa Lodge / Red Chilli Camp / Murchison River Lodge / Sambiya Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Game Viewing & Launch cruise
Take a cup of tea/coffee and go for a game drive before dawn to catch up with predators and early risers. Expect an encounter with animals such as Giraffes, jackals, Leopard, Lions, Elephant, spotted hyenas, Buffaloes, warthogs and several Antelope species among others. Return for full breakfast, lunch and embark on an afternoon boat cruise on the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the falls where you may see animals like Buffaloes, Elephants, Hippopotamuses, Huge Nile crocodiles basking along the shores, as well as many bird species.
Day 10: Picnic drive Back to Kampala
After breakfast, we can take a short game drive and then drive back to Kampala, stop at the Royal drum makers to have a look at the local methods of drum making that have been adopted for generations.
